“Doing The Right Thing” does not stop on the collection floor. CBE and its employees continue to build on a long tradition of supporting charities and participating in local organizations to make a positive impact in our communities.
Employees have the option to donate money in order to wear jeans on Wednesdays, an initiative we call “jeans for charity”. In an average month, CBE employees donate over $5,000 to a designated charity. CBE also dedicates the month of October to the annual United Way campaign, in which we historically donate over $40,000 in just one month.
In addition, CBE is involved with Partners in Education, sponsoring local elementary schools in both Waterloo and West Des Moines, Iowa. Employees are regularly involved with the schools, including a buddy program, fundraisers, collecting school supplies for back to school and teaching programs through Junior Achievement. CBE employees also adopt families over the holidays and maintains a high level of committment and involvement in the local business community.
CBE Cares about developing leaders. Through our training and development programs, employees have helped build new houses for Habitat for Humanity, volunteered at the local Boys and Girls Club, food bank, House of Hope Women’s Shelter, Salvation Army and Cabrini Green in Chicago.
