Collection Manager - Kansas City

The CBE Group Inc. is looking to immediately fill Collection Manager positions for their Overland Park, Kansas location.
The Collection Manager is accountable for the department’s financial performance, which includes revenue and client competitive rankings. The Collection Manager is expected to implement strategies as instructed and to provide the leadership necessary to meet established goals and support the company’s core values. The Collection Manager is expected to be an expert on their assigned clients policies and procedures.
Job Description:

 

Assist the Director of Operations in analyzing portfolios and establishing goals

 

Implement strategies to meet revenue and profit goals, and comply with client and company requirements and expectations

 

Ensure that staffing levels are in line with expectations, and notify the Director as soon as trends in placements or turnover are recognized; includes managing staff PTO to ensure there is appropriate phone and management coverage at all times

 

Serve as a positive role model and mentor to staff, ensuring a positive environment

 

Ensure that training needs are met, and that supervisors are spending the appropriate amount of time monitoring and coaching their collectors

 

Follow, and when necessary, make suggestions to modify or create Standard Operating Procedures

 

Ensure that daily key performance indicators, such as attendance, call production, urgency payments, and contest participation are being met

 

Ensure that any reports, including client statistics, payroll, or other internal paperwork is completed accurately and on time

 

Ensure that client requirements regarding portfolio management, work standards, settlements, and other special handling are met
The requirements for this position are:

 

Four-year degree or equivalent work experience

 

At least two years of progressive and documented responsibility in debt collection operations management.

 

Expert knowledge of all laws and regulations pertaining to the collection of debts, including, but not limited to: FDCPA, FCRA, The Privacy Act, HIPAA

 

Strong knowledge of laws and regulations relating to the employment of personnel

 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to analyze data

 

Proficiency with technology, including general business tools such as e-mail, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as collection-specific systems such as collection platforms and predictive dialers

The requirements for this position are:

 

BS/BA Degree in Computer Science, MIS, CIS or equivalent education and experience

 

Three to five years development, help desk or infrastructure-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Familiarity with operating systems that include, but are not limited to, Windows NT, 2000 and 2003 Server, Linux, Netware and Open VMS

This position is responsible for structuring, managing and prioritizing a wide range of data management activities, tasks and priorities across all CBE business units. This position will take a strategic and service-oriented approach to working with the management of each business unit to define, recommend and resource their specific data management needs and priorities.
Job Description:

 

Manage execution of hypothesis-based analytics with sound results

 

Analyze, test and manage third party skip trace data

 

Develop reports and analysis for business needs and changes by gathering, compiling and reviewing information and data, and evaluating and developing systems and procedures recommendations

 

Develop recommendations for current or new data sources, data usage, pricing structures and data presentment

 

Perform cost/benefit analysis for all third party skip trace vendors

 

Develop, analyze, test and manage collection letter process

 

Develop and maintain business models designed to analyze and predict effectiveness of skiptrace and letter processes

 

Manage and maintain vendor relationships
The requirements for this position are:

 

BS/BA/MA/MS Degree in Statistics, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field

 

One to three years of business, data, statistical or operations analysis experience preferred

 

Knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs and flow charts

 

Advanced experience in Microsoft Products such as Excel, Access and PowerPoint required

 

Business modeling experience preferred

 

Excellent written, oral and collaboration skills

 

Demonstrated sound project management skills

 

Excellent analytical, mathematical and creative problem-solving skills

 

Ability to work in cross-functional team environment

Be able to performance tune any stored procedure, function, view, trigger or query by utilizing all means necessary (indexes, partitioning, database hints, etc)

 

Database diagramming (ER, UML)

 

Assist in the development and implementation of new applications

 

Conduct unit and system testing / troubleshooting of software as member of the development team
